PROCESS

STEP 1:

INTRO

OUR PROCESS STARTS with a site visit as well as a client survey and interview.

The objective is to understand the site as well as the client’s wants and needs for their space–What is the space now and what may it become?

STEP 2:

DESIGN

OUR DESIGN PROCESS

Directed by our clients needs and wants for their space and harvest, we strive to preserve existing biodiversity while weaving in new, food-focused systems. We employ a pragmatic and minimalist design intent. This minimizes the labor and resources needed for maintenance as well as our environmental impact.

STEP 3:

CONSTRUCT

OUR PASSIONATE TEAM of crafts people CARES about the work we do and takes pride in an incredible finished product. We celebrate the use of natural and salvaged materials wherever possible, and think deeply about how we can minimize plastics and waste in all facets of constructuction.

We recognize unjust workplace practices embedded in the construction landscaping industry. We take pride in treating our employees and contractors with the uptmost respect, transparency, and giving fair compensation.

STEP 4:

CARE

ONGOING CARE is the most important part of what we do. We coordinate with our clients’ level of engagement with their garden in order to ensure the healthiest space possible and to minimize waste at harvest. Typically, ongoing maintenance occurs on a biweekly basis.

STEP 5:

SHARE

THE MOST REWARDING PART of our process happens after the harvest. In almost all cases, a garden will produce a surplus of fruit or vegetables than can be used by our clients. This is when our garden spaces turn outward into the community.

Whether it is delivering fresh vegetables from your garden to your neighbors doorstep, or redistributing food to a handful of incredible community organizations serving low-income families, we make sure nothing goes to waste.
